Four House Vacant Seats to Go After Tuesday’s Indiana Contest (CQPolitics.com)

CQPolitics.com - Democrat Andre Carson’s victory Tuesday in the special election held in Indiana’s 7th Congressional District will reduce the unusually high number of U.S. House seats that currently are vacant. But there still are four remaining vacancies in the 435-member U.S. House, which will have 233 Democrats and 198 Republicans upon Carson’s swearing-in.

2nd Muslim elected to Congress from Ind. (AP)

AP - The grandson of the late U.S. Rep. Julia Carson won a special election Tuesday to succeed her, keeping the seat in Democratic hands and becoming the second Muslim ever elected to Congress.

Carson’s Special Election Win Keeps Indy Seat in Democrats’ Hands (CQPolitics.com)
